NEW YORK STYLE STREET/HIP HOP DANCE CLASS WITH APRIL FORREST

Description
April's dance class has been designed to put the "fun" back in fundamentals. This is a fusion hip hop class peppered with street, funk, and swagger.The class begins with 30-minute warm-up, which includes full body isolations, stretching and toning. Students learn about free styling as well as following specific choreography as they excel to their fullest potential as dancers, artists and entertainers. High energy is never lacking so make sure you come ready to bring it!
Award winning dancer and choreographer April Forrest has been dancing since she could walk. Growing up, she studied extensively in the styles of hip-hop, jazz, tap and ballet, immersing herself in the world of dance. Her skills earned her a remarkable scholarship with the Hartford Ballet at the precocious age of 9, followed by a scholarship as a dance major to The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts high school. At the age of 15, Forrest began traveling weekly to NYC to take master classes with celebrity choreographers such as Darren Henson, Chio, Cheryl Murakam, Bev Brown and Adrian Wilthire. Since then, she has served as a dance instructor for over 10 years at various dance studios in Boston, MA, central CT and around New England.
Forrest is currently a member and choreographer for Universal Motown pop group JADA. She is offering weekly New York Style Street/Hip Hop classes every Tuesday night 6:30-8PM at Bristol Studios, as well as private dance lessons throughout the week. Call Melissa at 617-247-8689 for more details!
