The French Wine Scholar (FWS) is the highest complete level of French Wine Studies for wine professionals and French wine enthusiasts who want to immerse themselves in French Wine Studies. It is endorsed by Wines of France, the French national wine office, and by the U.S. wine industry.

Building on its tradition of high-quality teaching, the French Cultural Center is thus proud to be the first organization in Boston to partner with FWS Instructor Jo-Ann Ross to bring you this advanced, in-depth program.

The fee covers the cost of:

1. Study Manual, given out at introductory meeting.
2. On-Line Program for home study, accessible 24/7.
3. Regular On-Line Quizzes to monitor progress
4. Review and tasting sessions

Schedule

March 5, 2012, 6pm-7:30pm - Introductory Meeting and Tasting: meet other students and your teacher Jo-Ann Ross, form study groups, discuss online program and successful study strategies.

April 23, 2012, 5pm-9pm - First review and tasting: Alsace, Burgundy, Champagne, Loire, Beaujolais

June 18, 2012, 5pm-9pm - Second review and tasting: Rhone, Provence, Bordeaux, Languedoc-Rousillon

June 25, 2012 , 6pm-7pm - Examination

Note that the examination is NOT mandatory. However, only the successful completion of the examination with a score of 75 or higher confers the FWS postnominal.
