Description
Strap on your boots, arm yourself with a shotgun or golf club and get ready for one helluva ride. So you thought your family holidays were intense? Wait until you see the dysfunctional ones we got! Prosthetic legs are swinging at the playhouse and toast is flying at the Studios - this repertory project is so big we are taking over a couple of motel rooms to finish the job.
Almost two years ago we brought you three Tennesse Williams' plays in repertory, this season Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard gets the royal treatment with four of his plays running in rep. Two will be together at the Playhouse, one at the Studios, and another in an actual motel room.
With a combined cast of seventeen, we not only have actors performing in multiple shows, we even have multiple actors repping roles within in the same show! Sound insane? We hoped so.
Oh, and on Sunday's March 25th and April 1st, we'll perform all four plays on the same day starting at noon. And, no, that's not an April Fool's prank. We have very limited space for those marathon maniacs, but well worth the combined ticket price of $120 because you get lunch, a shot of whiskey, and private transportation from theatre to theatre by the cast and crew of the rep series – it will give you an one on opportunity to speak with the actors and directors who made it all happen.
But, we're thinking four is not enough. So, throughout the month of March we are presenting other Sam Shepard plays at the Studios. Cowboy Mouth, Curse of the Starving Class, 4-H Club, Action, Suicide in B Flat are only a few we are kicking around – speaking of which - Kicking a Dead Horse too! Each presentation ranges from a full staged reading, presenting portions of the play, to a full on production co-produced with DO it Live! Productions. Admission is $5 - $10 for each event, or completely free with a "Sam Shep Rep Pass".
So down your whiskey and grab a "Sam Shep Rep Pass" which is only $85! Each pass gets you one ticket to each show in the series, plus reserved seats for any of our Sam Shepard reading/workshop series you may desire to go to.
You're not going to want to miss this extraordinary series!
