Description

Historic Columbia Foundation's on-site archaeologist will host guests as he uncovers the day-to-day history of the Mann-Simons family. Through artifacts recovered during his excavations at the site, Jakob Crockett is currently piecing together the material and social world of the family and their business pursuits, including the grocery store and lunch counter they operated at the site. Visit his lab, see some of the site's 60,000 recovered artifacts, and learn about the African-American family who made their lives in Columbia since 1825.
